Teddy Bear Dreams came about when my daughters were in grade school. They were bullied for being different than most students and did not speak the language like most of them. They went to a charter school and my girls enjoyed learning a new language and new cultures. I promised my girls I would write stories for them.
My daughters are the heart of these stories. Their strengths and hearts are woven deeply into the words. Their hopes, dreams, and the little things are what made them so special. As my love for them abounded, it caused me to pen these stories.
My first daughter has cerebral palsy and she was born 2 months early. She is now a beautiful young woman. My second daughter has Wolf white Parkinson that affects her heart. My youngest is very dear in every bit. My children may have special needs but I want them to know that no matter the challenges they may face, they can overcome and will succeed. I don’t want to miss any opportunity to tell them that they matter. I wish to inspire them to dream and make their dreams come true.
There is hope and beauty in the world. Kindness and compassion make the world a much better place and Understanding is a beautiful language of showing my girls and all children that this is possible. My children have inspired me to write several of Teddy Beardreams stories.
The adventures and travels like meeting the emperor of China and the story of New Friends and its lesson about compassion are the things we want to inculcate in our children’s young mind. Come Home George is an inspiring story of a boy as he faces his bullies and teaches us a lesson as he comes home to his family. Two more titles are coming out in a few months. The stories to look forward will be Amber’s first winter - a holiday-based story, George and Amber finding a magical castle who explored the joy of reading and friendship.
I enjoyed writing and illustrating my book. This has been a labor of love that has taken over 12years to complete. I hope you will enjoy them as much as my children.
