NOTE: All Bible quotations were taken from King James Version, unless otherwise indicated.
In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 19, verse 26, we read the words of our Lord Jesus saying: “with God, all things are possible”.
This is the message we need to remember during the days of adversity, when we face challenges that seem impossible to overcome that may cause us to feel we are in a hopeless situation. But the truth is that there is real hope and it is found in the Word of God in the Bible. It is in the promises of God that are available to all of us when we believe and place our trust in the Lord Jesus.
Indeed, as it is written, nothing is impossible with God. Consider the miracle of the man who was born blind but after Jesus touched him, in an instant, he was able to see. We read about this incredible miracle in the Gospel of John, chapter 9, verses 1, 6, and 7 where it says: “1And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth; 6When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay; 7And said unto him, go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is by interpretation, sent). He went his way, therefore, and washed, and came seeing.”
One does not have to be a doctor to know that our body organs associated with our vision are very complex, but yet in an instant, God had corrected everything that was not working properly with this man’s eyes and he was able to see.
Let us look at another awesome miracle which shows how powerful the Lord is, and with Him indeed, “nothing is impossible.”
We read in the Gospel of John again how Jesus went and raised His friend, Lazarus, who was dead for four days. Now, consider that the climate in the area where this miracle took place is known to be hot, and after four days, the body was surely in a state of decomposition where major organs had begun to disintegrate, but do you think this condition of the body could have posed a problem to the Almighty God and stop Him from declaring His miracle? Not at all!
Unfazed about the negative circumstance surrounding His friend’s body and full of faith, Jesus proceeded to turn the impossible into possible as we read in John 11:39, 40 where He said: “… Take ye away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, “Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.” 40 Jesus saith unto her, “said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” And in verses 43 and 44 we read: “43And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.” 44 And he that was dead came forth.
How can that happen one may say? In an instant, all the decomposed organs were revitalized and the dead man walked? Humanly speaking, that’s impossible! But not with Jesus, with Him, “all things are possible.”
If you believe and trust in Jesus, you also can see miracles in your life, no matter what kind of challenge you may be facing: The loss of a job, an illness, a failing business, an addiction, financial problems, etc. Whatever it is, God can make the impossible possible, and you too can have your miracle. Don’t give up!
But in order to receive a miracle, we must have faith in the Lord Jesus. We must believe that He is able to provide what we have asked Him to do for us. In the epistle to the Hebrews, we read: “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
It was through faith in the Lord Jesus that I was healed from cancer. Towards the end of 2015, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and shortly afterwards, the doctor removed my left kidney. Unfortunately, this cancer had spread to my lungs. As a result, the doctor gave me a death sentence, but the Lord Jesus turned that into a life sentence by healing me.
I wrote about this experience, the sadness and agony from having cancer, and the indescribable joy of my healing. My book is called, There Is Hope, and it can be found at Amazon.com.
I highly recommend it to anyone. It will fill you with hope to overcome a difficult challenge in your life, and with faith in the Lord Jesus.
And so, don’t give up no matter what kind of challenge you are facing right now. There is hope.
